 What is shyness is nice about? It is a project that allows poetry and music lovers to combine both components for a good cause. Concretely, that means an opportunity for each participant to add her/ his lyrical skills to our collection that in result will become a printed book. It will be released by a publisher who gives us the full freedom of action to determine the cover artwork, format, title and price (Books On Demand). The book sales earnings will be given to a charitable foundation (for example PETA or another one, we´ll have a voting about that point before the release is going to happen). The basic idea is: Offering a chance to people who like Morrissey and The Smiths to reflect and portray their lives the artistic way. Each listener is creating an insight into her/ his soul. Each poem will be significant and unique in itself. If about onehundred people get together to show up with their poems, we would have a hundred different perspectives and subjects. That would be great. The contents of your poems are up to you. Any involved person will be able to participate in the process. All decisions and formalities will be discussed of all of us as a group of equal members. There is NO attendance fee, NO hidden costs. The only costs for the author will appear by purchasing the book when it´s available in stores (BOD means there will be no free copies). But this also regards the spirit of our concern. Each of the poets will support a charitable cause by purchasing the book. A hundred books and a revenue of (for example) EUR 2 per book (depends on the price) it would mean a donation of 200 Euros to contribute. However, nobody is committed to buy a book. It´s up to you. But it will surely be a good feeling to have a book in hands, in which each one of the group has added her/ his part. The donations will be made under the eyes of the (regional) press. Adequate journalists will certainly document it with pleasure. This will prove the serious motives of the whole project. It could also give us a little lift by popularity. A big advantage will be the size of our team for cooperative and substancial advertising from mouth to mouth and/ or by the internet. We will be deeply grateful to anyone who will be with us. |
